Meet Leah
I’m a mom, X-ray tech, and total barefoot shoe convert.
For years, I struggled with foot pain.
I tried everything from orthotics to physio and gait assessments, and while orthotics helped my feet feel better, the rest of my body was still out of alignment.
Tight muscles, back pain, anterior pelvic tilt — it all just felt off.
Then I tried barefoot shoes.
Slowly, everything started to change.
My pain went away, my feet got wider and stronger, and my big toe even started to straighten out.
I couldn’t believe something as simple as changing my shoes could make such a difference.
I started The Grounded Step to make more barefoot shoes accessible for Canadians.
Let’s make everyone aware of the benefits of barefoot shoes and change the norm — after all, why shouldn’t all shoes be foot-shaped?
Barefoot is best, but if we need shoes, let’s choose ones that are stylish — without compromise.
